Shun Ken Onion Chef's Knife

I got this knife as a type of impulsive indulgence, I think it looked cool in its own holder and I had heard excellent things about Shun knives. Even so, all those good points are correct. It's by far the sharpest knife I've owned, and I've got Henckel Zwillings (not the cheapo kind you get at Target) which have been sharpened to what I Utilised to feel was the sharpest blade around. I'm not dissing the Henckels - if I had not indulged in the Shun I'd happen to be very pleased with their performance. I bought it as a result of quantity/price. I wish I hadn't. Each spatulas (turners) arrived broken. Amazon gave me credit. The scraper is worthless because who makes use of such a tool. The spoons are useless simply because they get soft & bend in even lukewarm use. It takes great exertion to use the wine bottle opener. Most of the knives are sharp enough, but the chef's knife can't cut frozen meats. Who needs a pizza cutter? (Review More...)

This was definitely a steal! I only paid 40.00 for a knife set that I'd happen to be willing to pay 80.00 for. I'm not a chef but I'm a mom that cooks several meals and am quite satisfied with this buy. I use to have knives with serrated edges as well as the teeth would bend creating cutting and also washing them tough. It really is nice to have straight, smooth blades that I can sharpen if they get dull. Hopefully these will last significantly longer than my serrated ones that I had for about 13 years. I do dry them following they're handwashed simply because they will rust but I think that it takes function occasionally to create things last longer.
